Madrid-based Orbio, an AI workforce platform for global enterprises with frontline teams, has raised €18.09 million ($21 million) in a Series A funding round led by Dawn Capital.
The round also saw participation from existing investors, including Visionaries.
The company said it will use the new funding to expand into new markets, grow its customer base among existing and new enterprise clients, and further develop Orbio’s AI agent platform to support employees throughout their entire work lifecycle.
“What stands out about Orbio is the speed at which customers have completely rebuilt their operating models around it. In a matter of months, some of the world’s largest employers have embraced AI-first frontline workforce management with Orbio at the core, replacing labour budgets in a permanent way,” said Henry Mason, Partner at Dawn Capital.

Sergi Bastardas, co-founder and CEO of Orbio, “This is not a talent shortage problem, it’s a talent allocation problem. The people are there. The work is there. What’s been missing is the ability to connect frontline workers with opportunities quickly, consistently and at scale.
“With Orbio, candidates can be contacted within seconds, onboarding can happen in hours rather than days, and employers can stay continuously connected with their workforce. The result is faster hiring, lower attrition and smoother operations while workers get a better chance to start, stay and grow.”
Orbio was founded in 2025 by CEO Sergi Bastardas, who previously co-founded Colvin; CRO Nacho Travesí, who co-founded Cobee; and CTO Antonio Melé, who co-founded Nucoro.
The company helps large businesses automate frontline hiring, onboarding, and workforce management using AI agents. These AI tools assist with recruiting, candidate screening, employee management, and other HR tasks, helping companies hire faster, reduce employee turnover, and improve the experience for both workers and job applicants.
According to Orbio, around 80% of the global workforce works in frontline roles such as healthcare, retail, warehousing, hospitality, and logistics. Staff shortages in these industries can hurt revenue, customer service, and overall operations. The company's goal is to modernise workforce management for these frontline workers.
Orbio says most enterprise software was built for office-based employees, while frontline workers often do not have corporate email accounts or regular access to workplace software. As a result, many companies still rely on manual processes, spreadsheets, and large operations teams to manage hiring and employees.
This creates challenges for both employers and workers. In many frontline industries, annual employee turnover exceeds 70%, making recruitment and workforce management costly and time-consuming. New employees often receive limited onboarding support and may leave their jobs within weeks.
Orbio is building an AI-powered workforce platform where AI agents can interview candidates, evaluate suitability, guide onboarding, track employee engagement, identify signs of attrition and stay connected with workers throughout their employment.
The company says this allows employers to support frontline workers 24/7 while automating many workforce management tasks. The result is faster hiring, lower administrative costs, better employee retention, and a more stable workforce.
