Oslo-based Solvera has raised $6.3 million in a pre-seed funding round to build an AI-powered engineering firm for the construction industry.
SUMMARY
- Solvera raised $6.3 million in pre-seed funding.
- Seedcamp led the round, alongside other investors and angel backers.
- Building an AI-powered engineering firm for the construction industry.
The round was led by Seedcamp, with participation from Construct Venture, Inception Fund, Momentum, Obos Ventures, PSV Tech, Sondo and The Nordic Web Ventures. Angel investors also joined the round, including Anders Kvåle and Håvard Haukeland, the founders of Spacemaker.
Arif Mirza, co-founder and CEO of Solvera, said: "We've had twenty years of better building engineering software, and now AI, but productivity and the fundamental way engineering gets delivered has barely changed. Technology is only part of the answer. To capture its full potential, you also have to rethink how the firm operates and how it makes money. That is incredibly difficult to do inside organizations built around thousands of people, active projects and billable hours. That is why we decided not to build yet another tool for engineers that doesn’t move the needle in how work gets done. We are building the engineering firm itself around AI."

Solvera was founded by Arif Mirza (CEO), Pål Rasmussen (CTO) and Thorvald Thorsnes (CCO). The company is building an engineering firm that combines AI technology with the knowledge and experience of professional building engineers.

Instead of selling software licences or charging customers by the hour for consulting, Solvera provides complete engineering services. It helps take projects from the early planning stage to detailed designs that are ready for construction.
The company uses its own platform powered by AI agents to automate more engineering tasks. Human engineers remain responsible for important decisions and applying their professional judgement.
Solvera’s system is also designed to learn from each project by collecting and storing engineering knowledge. This allows the company to reuse that knowledge in future projects and improve its services over time.
