Necture, a leading technology firm that was originally known as Ubiq and is driving the adoption of electric fleets, revealed that it has raised an extra €7 million for its Series A round of funding.

Leading the investment round were Verbund X Ventures (Austria) and Smart Energy Innovationsfonds (Switzerland), which joined previously invested parties Speedinvest and smartworks innovation GmbH.

Established in 2015, the company uses a special human-driven technology solution to assist businesses in optimising their fleets and making a smooth transition to electric cars (EVs). Fleet managers can use data from Necture's predictive SaaS-based platform to customise recommendations for individual vehicles for maintenance chores like charging and rebalancing.

Because uptime is maximised and costs are decreased, this leads to a rise in the use of electric fleets. With more than 20,000 individuals, Necture's StreetCrowd community carries out optimisation potential locally, guaranteeing seamless operations and bridging the data-to-action gap.

Christian Adelsberger, Necture Founder and CEO said, “The pace of climate change demands bold action, “This investment reinforces our vision of a sustainable future powered by EVs, and it empowers us to reach more businesses and make a real difference. We are thrilled to tighten our relationship with Smart Energy Innovationsfonds and Verbund X Ventures, and we believe their deep understanding of the energy and mobility sectors will be invaluable.“

It currently has a good product-market fit. The organisation oversees 15,000 vehicles in Europe and the Americas in collaboration with shared mobility companies as Awto (Santiago, Chile), Eloop (Vienna), and MILES (Germany).

With the help of this most recent fundraising round, it is able to reach more businesses globally and quicken the electrification of fleets, further propelling the company's growth into the corporate fleet sector. A partnership between Necture and a top automaker and transportation provider will soon be revealed.

Lars Hennersdorf, Investment Manager at Smart Energy Innovationsfonds secures “Necture’s human-driven technology approach to EV fleet management is truly innovative and addresses a critical need in the market. Combining software with hardware infrastructure is crucial. Necture will make shared mobility and fleets more accessible and accelerate their roll-out. And we believe this can be also extended to other mobility offerings in the future. This also supports the strategic direction of our fund,”.

Franz Zöchbauer, Managing Director of VERBUND X Ventures, commented: “Necture’s expertise in both car sharing and fleet management, combined with their data-driven platform, uniquely positions them to address the specific needs of businesses transitioning to EVs. The company has shown tremendous growth. Our investment will accelerate this even further. Necture’s will significantly impact the electrification of corporate fleets – we’re looking forward to being a part of this journey.”
