Along with prior investors Octopus Ventures, Seedcamp, and Semantic Ventures, MS&AD, Blackwood, and 1818 sponsored the seed round, which was co-led by Pact VC and TheVentureCity. The debt financing came from Columbia Lake Partners, who also backed Factorial, Contentsquare, Mews, and Gryphon.

With the combined £8.5m, the business will be able to acquire a European licence, grow its staff, and provide more products. The money will be used by the business to support licencing ambitions in Europe, expedite customer expansion, and enable more product development.

Sidekick, which was co-founded by Matthew Ford and Pete Townsend, provides a cutting-edge method of wealth management for individuals who want to get more out of their money and take advantage of benefits usually only available to the very rich.

It offers financial plans made to handle market intricacies and optimise returns. Access to liquidity alternatives, different asset classes (coming soon), and special investment opportunities open up additional channels for wealth growth for users.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) granted Sidekick a full suite of regulatory authorizations, enabling it to introduce its actively managed flagship equity product in January.

Typically reserved for a portfolio of £500,000 to £1 million and upwards, this offering offers investors a low minimum portfolio requirement of just £1,000 along with a premium product set and service that includes expertly managed investments, regular portfolio updates, insights into market trends, and broader investment themes.
