Complir Raises $11 Mn Seed Funding to Expand AI-Powered Product Compliance Platform

Product compliance technology company Complir has raised $11 million in seed funding. The company will use the new investment to expand its AI-powered platform, which helps retailers and brands manage product regulations and compliance requirements.

SUMMARY

  • Complir raised $11 million in seed funding led by General Catalyst.
  • The company helps retailers and brands manage product regulations and compliance using AI.
  • Complir was founded in 2024 by Gustav Bang, Tine Kühnel, and Marc Brejner.

The funding round was led by General Catalyst with participation from angel investors and specialist industry funds. The new round follows Complir’s $2 million pre-seed funding raised in December 2025.

Gustav Bang, co-founder and CEO of Complir, said, "Product compliance is becoming a significant operational challenge for global retailers as they manage increasingly complex regulations across large product portfolios, while many compliance processes remain manual. We're building the AI infrastructure that allows compliance, quality and regulatory teams to move faster, reduce risk, and bring products to market with confidence, and ultimately limit people’s exposure to dangerous products."

Founded in 2024 by Gustav Bang, Tine Kühnel, and Marc Brejner, Complir is building an AI-powered platform that helps retailers and brands manage product compliance. The platform is designed for companies that sell many products across different countries, where regulations can vary.

Product compliance is often managed through manual work, spreadsheets, and older business systems. Companies need to keep up with changing rules related to product safety, packaging, batteries, data protection, and other areas. Failing to meet these requirements can lead to shipment delays, product recalls, rejected goods, or fines.

Complir uses AI to compare product information with relevant regulations and create the documents needed to sell products in different markets. Its system also tracks regulatory changes for individual products and alerts companies when a product may be affected.

According to Complir, its technology can reduce repetitive compliance and regulatory work by up to 90%. The company says customers save an average of 15 hours and about $700 per product update, while product launch times can be reduced by as much as three months.
