HyImpulse Technologies Raises €50 Mn+ to Advance Commercial Rocket Launches in Europe

European launch services company HyImpulse Technologies has raised more than €50 million in equity funding through a Series A extension round. The funding shows strong investor confidence in the company’s technology and plans to expand Europe’s independent access to space.

SUMMARY

  • HyImpulse Technologies has raised more than €50 million in a Series A extension funding round.
  • The round was co-led by JOIN Capital and Ace Capital Partners, with several new and existing investors participating.
  • The funding will support its goal of providing efficient, reliable, and sustainable launch services from Europe.

The funding round was co-led by JOIN Capital and Ace Capital Partners. New investors, including North Ventures, BW-Capital, Bayern Kapital, and the German Aerospace Center (DLR), also participated.

Existing investors, including Campus Founders Ventures, continued to support the company. With this new funding, HyImpulse has now raised more than €125 million in total equity and public funding.

Dr. Christian Schmierer, co-founder and CEO of HyImpulse: “This financing reflects our investors’ confidence in our team, technology and commercial vision. Europe needs sovereign, responsive and economically sustainable launch capabilities. Our proprietary hybrid propulsion technology and suborbital and orbital services position us to meet growing demand across commercial, institutional and defence markets.”

“Europe doesn’t just need more rockets; it needs launch economics that actually work,” said JOIN Capital Founding Partner Jan Borgstädt. “HyImpulse has built a fundamentally leaner rocket architecture: roughly half the parts, a path to half the cost per kilogram and far less capital required to get to orbit. They have already proven the technology in fight. That’s why we co-led this round, and why the upcoming SR75 launch matters.”

Shimon Tsentsiper from ACE Capital Partners stated: “We were highly impressed by how the team around Dr. Christian Schmierer has achieved critical milestones with limited resources. Today’s space launch market suffers from significant over-demand, especially for affordable, dedicated launches – and HyImpulse offers a groundbreaking solution to this bottleneck. We are proud to join their investor circle and support them becoming a category leader.”

HyImpulse Technologies is a German space company that develops and builds rockets for commercial suborbital and orbital launches. Its rockets use a special hybrid propulsion system powered by oxygen and paraffin to carry small satellites and other payloads into space.

The company has more than 100 employees across locations in Neuenstadt, Ottobrunn, and Glasgow. HyImpulse focuses on making space launches efficient, reliable, and more sustainable, helping transport commercial payloads into low Earth orbit and beyond.
