SUMMARY

  • London-based startup Voxmind has raised £546,491 in a pre-seed funding round led by Ascension Ventures, with participation from investors including Mark McDermott, Russell Hart, and members of the Cambridge angel network.

The funding comes at a critical moment for enterprise authentication, as major cloud providers begin exiting voice biometrics services. Microsoft retired Azure Speaker Recognition in September 2025 and AWS is set to end support for Voice ID in May 2026 leaving enterprises, telecom operators and hardware OEMs without long-term voice-based security solutions.

Founded in January 2024 Voxmind develops a patent-pending phoneme-frequency extraction engine that analyzes the physical characteristics of the human vocal tract rather than language. This enables voice authentication and deepfake detection across all languages.

The system achieves 99.8% accuracy in detecting deepfake voices in under three seconds, operates on less than 500MB of memory and does not require GPU or cloud connectivity making it suitable for edge deployment.

The company has already secured an OEM agreement with a major unified communications hardware provider, integrating its SDK into enterprise IP phone systems.

It is also expanding into community banking in the US, telecom markets in Europe, and global contact center partnerships. The new funding will support commercial expansion, model optimization for edge devices, and ISO 27001 certification within an eight-month roadmap.
