Paul Koning, a former orthopaedic surgeon and OurMind founder, said, “This investment enables us to scale up and expand our platform so that we can meet, and continue to meet, demand from hospitals. Ultimately, this is not about AI, but about how we can continue to deliver good care with the same number of people.”

Cardiologist and CMIO Bart Driesen of Maasziekenhuis Pantein said, “Five years ago, there was not really a sense of necessity yet. Now there is. We have more than 150 patients with a new referral on the waiting list who cannot even get an appointment right away. That is simply not sustainable.
“Ultimately, you need an AI layer across the entire hospital. Doctors currently spend two to three hours a day preparing consultations, often at home in the evening. If AI can largely take that over, it changes our working day.”
Founded in 2024, OurMind was created to make healthcare easier to access and help improve patient care around the world. The company is backed by experienced healthcare professionals and has strong support from the medical community.
The startup develops safe AI tools that work alongside doctors and healthcare staff. By reducing paperwork and helping with administrative tasks OurMind allows healthcare professionals to spend more time caring for patients while improving efficiency across the healthcare system.
