Ravical Raises $17Mn Seed Funding to Expand Its AI Platform for Accounting Firms

Ravical, an AI platform designed for accounting and tax firms, has raised $17 million in a seed funding round. MMC Ventures led the round, with support from existing investors Lakestar and Pitchdrive, along with new investor Shapers. More than 100 accounting firms across Europe already use Ravical to support their work.

SUMMARY

  • Ravical raised $17 million in a seed funding round led by MMC Ventures.
  • Existing investors Lakestar and Pitchdrive participated, alongside new investor Shapers.
  • Ravical was founded in 2025 by Joris Van Der Gucht (CEO), Ken Bastiaensen (CTO) and Benjamin Vandermarliere (CPO).

Ravical will use the new funding to strengthen its presence in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. The company also plans to expand into other European markets and enter the US. These steps will help Ravical reach more accounting and tax firms and grow its business internationally.

Joris Van Der Gucht, CEO of Ravical, said: “AI is changing what clients expect from their accountants, and firms are becoming more proactive and strategic than ever before. Our role is to help them get there. Every firm will use AI, so the real question is who controls it. When every employee uses their own assistant in their own way, the individual gets better, but the firm doesn’t. We turn how a firm’s best people work into a shared way of working that AI carries out across every client. Firm leadership sees every opportunity and risk across the client base, so the firm wins more work from the clients it already has.”

Mina Samaan, General Partner at MMC Ventures, said: “Accounting hasn’t yet seen the same transformative moment that legal tech has, with firms like Harvey and Legora demonstrating what’s possible. Most of the AI startups we’ve met in the space are building point solutions for a single task or workflow. We don’t believe the winners will be the firms that replace their people. Rather, they’ll be the ones that make their best people count across every client. That’s what Ravical is built for. More than 100 firms are already on the platform, which is the clearest sign yet that the profession is starting to change. We feel very fortunate to have found Joris, Ken and Benjamin, and we’re delighted to be backing them as they continue to expand into new markets.”

Ravical: run AI across your accounting firm, with 16+ hours saved per month, 100+ firms, and ISO 27001 and GDPR compliance

Founded in 2025, Ravical was started by Joris Van Der Gucht (CEO), Ken Bastiaensen (CTO) and Benjamin Vandermarliere (CPO). The company develops an AI-powered platform that helps accounting and tax firms manage their daily work more efficiently.

Ravical helps accounting firms organise their workflows and make better use of their team's knowledge. Its platform turns the experience and working methods of skilled professionals into standard processes that can be used across different clients.

The company aims to solve some of the key challenges facing the accounting industry. Demand for accounting and advisory services is growing, but many firms find it difficult to hire and retain skilled employees. This makes it harder for firms to manage their workload and serve more clients.

At the same time, the growing use of AI tools is changing how clients find financial information and access advice. Ravical aims to help accounting and tax firms adapt to these changes by using AI to improve their workflows and make better use of their existing expertise.
