Phononic Vibes Raises €25 Mn to Expand Its Noise and Vibration Control Technology Globally

Milan-based Phononic Vibes has raised €25 million in a new funding round. The company develops and manufactures noise and vibration control products for industries such as rail, energy, construction, manufacturing and mobility.

SUMMARY

  • Phononic Vibes raised €25 million in a new funding round.
  • Jolt Capital led the round, with participation from Eureka! Venture SGR, CDP Venture Capital SGR and Simest SpA.
  • Established in 2018 as a spin-off from Politecnico di Milano by Luca D’Alessandro, Giovanni Capellari and Stefano Caverni.

The funding round was led by Jolt Capital, a Paris-based private equity firm that invests in growing DeepTech companies. The investment was made through Jolt Capital V, a fund targeting €1 billion and approaching its final close.

Other investors in the round included Eureka! Venture SGR, CDP Venture Capital SGR and Simest SpA. Alongside the funding announcement, Phononic Vibes also unveiled its new brand identity and website.

Luca D’Alessandro, CEO and co-founder of Phononic Vibes, said, “Weight has always been the price of quiet. We have shown it is a design choice, with two of Europe’s most demanding customers. With Jolt Capital by our side in this new chapter, and the continued support of our existing investors Eureka! Venture SGR, CDP Venture Capital and Simest, we can accelerate our international growth, expand into new applications and make lighter noise control the standard across data centres, rail, energy and industry. I would also like to thank 360 Capital for believing in us from the early days, when we were still working at the desks of Politecnico di Milano, and for being part of the journey that brought us here.”

Andrea Traversone, Managing Partner at Jolt Capital, said, “Noise control is reaching a turning point. Conventional products have hit their physical limit, and infrastructure needs quieter assets with less weight and space. Phononic Vibes is a company combining breakthrough science, a patented design engine and manufacturing at scale. We are excited to back the team in building a global leader in noise and vibration control. This is Jolt Capital V’s first investment in Italy, a country with an increasingly dynamic and vibrant deeptech ecosystem.”

Founded in 2018 by Luca D’Alessandro, Giovanni Capellari and Stefano Caverni, Phononic Vibes started as a spin-off from Politecnico di Milano. The company manufactures its products in Italy and leads a group of established European manufacturers, including Matis, which was founded in 1979.

Phononic Vibes develops products that reduce noise and vibration while using less material. Its solutions are designed for applications where noise control is important, including industrial equipment, buildings and transport systems.

According to the company, traditional noise barriers, enclosures and silencers usually require more material to achieve better noise reduction. Phononic Vibes aims to overcome this limitation by developing technology that delivers effective noise control with less material.
