Dutch-based startup Helin secures €3 million in seed funding from FORWARD.one. With this fundraising round, Helin enters its first phase of growth speed after initially being bootstrapped.
The funds will be utilised to develop Helin’s Industrial Edge Intelligence Software as a Service platform and strengthen the company’s development and commercial teams.
Helin brings compute and analytics closer to the data sources at a time when security compliance, energy transition, and automation are increasing at a rapid pace. Best-in-class security and scalability, as well as lower expenses and more efficiency, are only a few advantages of this strategy.
Joost Lasschuit, CEO and co-Founder of Helin, said: “Helin is on a mission to become the leading Industrial Edge Intelligence Platform, transforming ‘dumb assets’ into intelligent, data-driven entities. This transformation is not just about business efficiency; it’s about making the world safer, smarter, and more sustainable. Our platform offers best-in-class solutions for efficiency, health and safety, environmental impact and productivity. With this new investment and a clear vision, Helin is poised to make significant strides in the maritime and energy sectors. We are not only growing in size but also in impact, bringing intelligence to industrial areas and revolutionising how businesses operate.”
Making “dumb” industrial assets “smart” is Helin’s mission in an effort to increase productivity, sustainability, and safety. By delivering real-time data to offshore vessel operators using Helin, maritime construction business Boskalis was capable of to significantly reduce fuel use. By making the most of the assets in its solar parks, Helin has also assisted Sunrock in boosting revenue.
Paul Pruijmboom, Managing Partner at FORWARD.one, added: “We’re excited to partner with Helin. Their impressive product, coupled with a dynamic team, aligns perfectly with our vision. We see great potential in Helin and look forward to working with these amazing people to shape the future of industrial intelligence.”
Helin was founded in 2017 and has since attracted numerous prominent international clients such as Boskalis, BP, HMH, Maersk Drilling, Noble Corp, Stena, and Sunrock. The business signed agreements with IT behemoths like Microsoft, Aveva, and NVIDIA and saw a 78% rise in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in the most recent quarter.
