Oct 27, 2026 | By Oliver Bennett

Epoch, a supply chain intelligence startup, has launched a new self-service product to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) manage compliance requirements. The product will initially focus on the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The launch comes after the company closed a $4.25 million seed funding round led by Burnt Island Ventures and Sand River. With this investment, Epoch's total funding has reached $6.26 million.
SUMMARY
- Epoch raised $4.25 million in seed funding led by Burnt Island Ventures and Sand River, bringing its total funding to $6.26 million.
- The platform helps businesses verify supply chain information and prepare compliance data without relying only on supplier questionnaires.
- Epoch uses geospatial AI and AI agents to trace raw materials back to their origins and improve supply chain transparency.
The platform uses geospatial AI and AI agents to track the starting points of supply chains. It identifies where raw materials come from, including farms, plantations, and mines. This gives companies a clearer view of their suppliers and the origins of their products.
Unlike traditional methods that depend mainly on supplier questionnaires, Epoch helps businesses independently check where their goods originate. It also helps them identify which suppliers need further information or follow-up. This allows companies to manage compliance more efficiently and focus their efforts where they are most needed.
"Supply chain compliance has been built on questionnaires, audits and certifications, and that toolkit is incomplete: regulations keep multiplying while suppliers increasingly can't, or aren't allowed to answer," said Jinal Surti, co-founder and CEO of Epoch. "We've built a compliance solution for the AI era. One sweep across a supply chain, using geospatial AI and agentic research, produces evidence that can be packaged for every regulation a company faces, including the ones not written yet. Enterprises get it inside the platforms they already run, and from today on, so does any SMB."

“Large companies rely on their supply chains to operate their businesses, and they are often operating in the dark as to the local conditions around drought, flood, and forest health. The Epoch platform leverages AI, earth observation data and proprietary models to enable visibility into risk mitigation, and compliance. Epoch is a team of 14 that operates like a team of 140, punching way above their weight! It’s a transformative approach to managing supply chain risk and compliance,” said Christine Boyle, Burnt Island partner.

Epoch is a supply chain intelligence platform that helps businesses make their supply chains more transparent, sustainable, and reliable. It uses geospatial AI and AI agents to track where raw materials come from. The platform analyzes more than a billion data points and uses large-scale data processing to give companies a clearer view of the starting points of their supply chains.
Epoch also helps businesses prepare data needed to meet global regulations without relying only on supplier questionnaires. Its information is used by NGOs, regulators, and producers to better understand supply chain activities.
The company's data is also available to more than 30,000 businesses and financial institutions through integrations with leading supply chain platforms. This helps organizations access supply chain information and improve compliance processes.
