DeepMind-Backed AI Startup Ethos Raises $22.75M Series A Funding Led By Andreessen Horowitz

The round also saw participation from General Catalyst, Evantic, and trading firm XTX Markets. The latest funding follows a $3.25 million seed round led by General Catalyst, bringing total funding to around $30 million.

Founded in London by CTO Daniel Mankowitz, formerly of Google DeepMind, and CEO James Lo, formerly of McKinsey and SoftBank Vision Fund, Ethos uses AI to match expert talent with roles in AI labs, investment firms, and enterprises.

The platform uses voice-based AI interviews and analyses candidates’ work, including research papers, GitHub projects, and professional content, to match them with highly specialised roles across industries such as finance, law, healthcare, technology and skilled trades.

The new funding will be used to improve its AI agent, expand its global talent network, and scale partnerships with enterprise clients and AI research organisations.
