Combinder funding news - Combinder Secures $500k in Pre-Seed Funding

Combinder, a community-driven energy data network, has raised $500,000 in Pre-Seed funding, giving it a $10 million valuation.

SUMMARY

  • Combinder, a community-driven energy data network, has raised $500,000 in Pre-Seed funding, giving it a $10 million valuation.
  • Combinder is a community-owned platform for connecting Distributed Energy Resources (DERs).

It is a Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN), which uses blockchain technology to decentralize the development and management of physical hardware.

It turns everyday electrical devices, like solar panels, HVAC systems, and EV chargers, into active participants in the energy market. Users can earn tokens by connecting these devices and sharing their energy usage.

Kai Siefert, founder and CEO of Combinder said, "Due to a massive energy data gap, our grids are blind to everything that happens behind the regulated metering infrastructure — Combinder is the answer. We connect device owners, businesses, and innovators to create an open, decentralized energy network that benefits everyone,".

It has created an easy-to-use app that lets device owners join a global energy network. This helps stabilize the grid, share energy, and certify renewable energy.

Energy service providers can also use a standard API to make demand response easier, create virtual power plants, and enable peer-to-peer energy trading. By connecting devices to Combinder’s global virtual power plant, users can earn $BIND tokens by sharing their energy data and adjusting usage during peak times.

It’s open beta has attracted 3,000 participants, and the company has secured nine business partnerships in areas like smart hardware, virtual power plants, and carbon finance.

Web3, Energy, and AI companies like 1kx, Outlier Ventures, DGFO, Moonrock Capital, MN Capital, and Prosper helped fund this round. With the new funds, Combinder will speed up its development and grow its network by improving the Combinder API to support more device makers and energy assets.

About Combinder

Combinder is a community-owned platform for connecting Distributed Energy Resources (DERs). It helps bridge the gap for behind-the-meter devices by encouraging DER owners to link their devices and offering developers one API to access multiple device types and brands at once.
