Biotech Startup ALP Bio Raises €161K in Round from Venture Kick

Swiss biotech startup ALP Bio has secured €161,000 (CHF 150,000) in funding from Venture Kick. The investment will support the commercial development of its technology platform.

The company's platform helps drug developers identify immune-related risks early in the drug development process. It combines human immune tissue models with artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the safety and success of new biologic medicines.

Biologic medicines, including many therapeutic antibodies, can sometimes trigger unwanted immune reactions. These reactions can reduce a treatment's effectiveness, cause side effects and increase the risk of failure during clinical trials.

Existing methods for predicting these immune responses often provide limited information. ALP Bio aims to solve this problem by helping developers detect potential risks earlier making drug development safer and more efficient.

ALP Bio has developed a platform that helps predict how the human immune system will respond to therapeutic antibodies.

The platform combines human tonsil-derived immune models with AI-based protein modelling to generate more accurate predictions.

Using insights based on real human biology, the technology helps researchers identify immune-related risks early in the drug development process.

By detecting these risks sooner, ALP Bio helps improve drug design and increases the chances of successful clinical trials and safer medicines.

ALP Bio was founded by Dr. Christian Vahlensiek (CEO), Dr. Lucas Schaus (CSO), Anatol Ehrlich (CTO), and Punit Mehra (CBO). Together, the team brings expertise in immunology, artificial intelligence, protein engineering, and business development.

The Venture Kick funding will help ALP Bio launch its first pilot projects with pharmaceutical companies. These early collaborations will allow the company to test its technology in real-world settings, encourage wider adoption and strengthen its commercial growth.
