SUMMARY
- Avrea, a next-generation Continuous Integration (CI) platform built for the emerging agentic AI era, has officially launched from stealth after raising $4.7 million in pre-seed funding led by Earlybird.
As AI increasingly takes on software code generation, engineering teams are producing code faster than ever. Yet the infrastructure used to test, validate and deploy that code has evolved far more slowly. This growing disconnect is creating delivery bottlenecks and limiting developer productivity.
Founded by Hannu Valtonen and Juha Valvanne, Avrea aims to close that gap by rethinking software delivery for AI-driven development. The platform works seamlessly with existing CI/CD workflows and can be integrated with minimal setup requiring only a single line of code allowing teams to adopt it without disrupting established processes.
Avrea is also designed to support direct interaction with AI agents, enabling automated systems to actively participate in building, testing, and releasing software.

According to CEO and co-founder Hannu Valtonen, while AI has transformed the speed of software creation, the supporting delivery infrastructure continues to scale inefficiently alongside increasing code volumes. Avrea addresses this challenge by accelerating delivery and providing full visibility into pipeline performance, helping teams identify issues such as flaky tests, stalled builds, and infrastructure inefficiencies.
Co-founder and CSO Juha Valvanne noted that software development is becoming increasingly collaborative between humans and AI making native integration between AI agents and delivery systems essential for future workflows.
The newly raised capital will support engineering expansion broaden the platform beyond traditional CI/CD runners and strengthen go-to-market initiatives as Avrea builds the foundation for the next generation of software delivery.
If teams generate five times more code, they also need to run five times more tests, and the strain on CI/CD systems becomes impossible to ignore. Avrea removes that friction without requiring teams to change the way they work. CEO and co-founder Hannu Valtonen.
