YGO Raises €8 Mn Series A to Build AI Infrastructure for the Travel Industry

Berlin-based startup YGO has raised €8 million in a Series A funding round. The company is building AI infrastructure to help businesses in the travel industry use artificial intelligence more effectively.

SUMMARY

  • Berlin-based travel tech startup YGO has raised €8 million in a Series A funding round led by Ventech.
  • The round also included Sake Bosch, Caesar Capital and angel investors.
  • Founded in 2023, YGO connects travel companies with airlines, hotels and travel inventory through AI-powered infrastructure.

The funding round was led by Ventech, with participation from Sake Bosch, Caesar Capital and several angel investors.

In August 2024, YGO raised €2.5 million in an earlier funding round led by GetAway Group.

“Travel is one of the last major industries still built on infrastructure that was never designed for an AI-first world. We built YGO to change that: to give the travel industry the infrastructure to make its inventory accessible, bookable and ready for AI – whether through their own platforms or through external AI agents,” said Kögel, co-founder and CEO of YGO.

“Online travel booking is undergoing its biggest structural shift in decades but most of the industry’s infrastructure was never built for it. YGO’s customers are already re-owning their customer relationships with AI and putting real KPI uplifts on the board to prove it. That’s why we believe YGO’s neutral infrastructure will become critical to how travel operates in an AI-first world,” said Nicolas Barthalon, Partner at Ventech.

Founded in 2023 by Julian Kögel, Sebastian Kreutzberger and Willi Ibbeken, YGO helps travel companies connect traditional travel technology with new AI tools.

Its platform connects tour operators, online travel agencies and travel agencies directly with airlines, hotels and tour operators. This allows businesses to access travel products without changing their existing booking systems.

YGO also improves hotel and travel product data by organising information from different sources and making it more accurate and detailed. This helps AI agents find, compare and recommend travel options more reliably.

The company’s content enrichment tool automatically creates verified, structured hotel information. Businesses can share this data through their own websites and digital channels, as well as with external AI assistants using MCP (Model Context Protocol).
