SUMMARY
- Irish-founded LegalTech startup EstateMin has raised €1 million in pre-seed funding.
- The round included NDRC, First Port Syndicate, Enterprise Ireland and several angel investors.
- Founded in 2024 by Isabella Hughes, Oisín Dolphin and John Noonan, the company is headquartered in Brooklyn, New York.
The funding round included NDRC, First Port Syndicate and Enterprise Ireland through its High Potential Start-Up programme. Angel investors Mike Hanrahan, Moira McKenna and Conor Stanley also participated, along with other Irish investors.
“What Oisín was describing was something I was doing every day. You don’t necessarily question it when it’s simply part of your job. Then somebody points out that you’re taking information a client has already provided and typing it all over again, and suddenly you realise how much time is being lost,” said Hughes, co-founder and CEO of EstateMin.
“The real benefit for our clients is how much easier EstateMin makes it to get us information. Executors and family members can complete their intake right from the portal, on their own time, instead of juggling calls and paperwork during an already difficult process. That means their matter moves faster and they spend less time chasing us for updates,” said James Greenwood of Greenwood Law in Illinois.

EstateMin was founded in Ireland in 2024 and is now headquartered in Brooklyn, New York. The company was started by co-founder and CEO Isabella Hughes, who experienced the challenges of legal work firsthand. While working as a legal executive, the law graduate and former international boxer had to manually copy client information into legal documents, a process she found slow and unnecessary.
Hughes teamed up with Oisín Dolphin, a machine learning expert with more than eight years of experience. Dolphin became interested in solving the same problem after dealing with the probate process following his father's death.
The two met at an NDRC founder weekend at Dogpatch Labs in 2024. John Noonan later joined as the third co-founder, bringing more than four years of experience in product and customer success at legal technology company Clio.
