SUMMARY

  • Vivilo, the Italian startup formerly known as Jubatus, has closed a €628k pre-seed funding round. The company develops proprietary technology for the automated creation and distribution of personalised photos, clips and videos for event participants.

The capital raised will allow the company to accelerate its growth through investments in marketing and brand awareness, platform enhancement, technological development and team expansion. Part of the funds will also be allocated to the development of its proprietary technology for recognising motorcycles, cars, helmets and vehicle models in competitive motorsport, one of the verticals in which the startup intends to further strengthen its positioning.

The round included a group of Italian investors, including CEOs, executives, founders, engineers, lawyers and professionals with experience in the business and technology sectors. The round was supported by the legal team at Zindato.

“The key success factor for Vivilo is, first and foremost, its advanced and protected proprietary technology, which represents a competitive advantage; this is supported by a strong and highly skilled team with a proven ability to execute, and finally by the new liquidity, which will accelerate commercial and marketing development, enabling rapid and scalable business growth” says Daniel Pagnoni, investor and business advisor.

This funding round comes at a period of strong growth for Vivilo, which is already profitable and aims to become the leading player in Europe in the distribution of personalised photo and video content for large-scale events.

“Vivilo was born from a very simple experience: taking part in an important event, experiencing something that demands preparation, commitment and emotion, and realising that you don’t have any professional content that truly tells that story” comments Logan Para, CEO and Co-founder of Vivilo.

“From there, we started building a technology that would allow every participant to find themselves within the event, not only through a photo, but through content ready to download, keep and share. With this round, we want to accelerate commercial growth, strengthen the platform and bring Vivilo into new sectors, from sport to motorsport, as well as festivals, trade fairs, concerts and community events”

Founded by Logan Para, Marco Ciabini and Gionata Manduchi, Vivilo was created from the combination of a concrete need and advanced technological expertise.

The idea began to take shape in 2021, when Para, after becoming a father and deciding to sign up for his first triathlon, realised at the end of the race that he had no professional video of his participation. That experience sparked the idea: to create a company capable of transforming the event experience into personalised content, available quickly and purchasable online.

Shortly afterwards, the meeting with Marco Ciabini, one of Europe’s leading experts in computer vision, led to the development of the proprietary technology behind the platform. With the arrival of the third founder, Gionata Manduchi, Vivilo built a system capable of recognising participants, generating personalised content and delivering it automatically within hours of an event ending

Today, Vivilo’s technology can identify faces, numbers, objects, car and motorcycle models, helmets and other visual elements, generating personalised content for each participant: photographs, short clips and vertical videos in reel format, professionally edited with scenes of the user and the event, ready for download and sharing on social media.

Vivilo works both with event organisers, managing the production, distribution and sale of content to final participants, and with partners who already produce photos and videos and choose to use the startup’s technology to distribute content in a faster, more efficient and scalable way.

“For years, the post-event phase has been slow, manual and undervalued: large amounts of material to select, long delivery times and difficulties for participants in finding their own content” the founders continue “Vivilo aims to transform this process by making photo and video distribution simplerand create an additional revenue stream for organisers, while maintaining high content quality and reducing the operational workload after the event”.

The value of the platform is also linked to processing speed: content can be made available within a few hours of the end of the event, when the memory of the experience is still vivid and the propensity to purchase and share is at its highest. This is particularly relevant for sports events, motorsport, music festivals, community events, trade fairs, concerts, graduations and high-attendance events.

Vivilo is already a partner of several events and organisations in the sector, including Rockin’1000, L’Étape du Tour de France, the Milano Cortina Olympic Games, Autodromo del Mugello, Eroica and Bologna Marathon, as well as events such as GF Squali, Oceanman, International Triathlon Bardolino, Monsterland, Lake Garda 42, Firenze Half Marathon, Rimini Marathon, Prosecco Run, the Italian Triathlon Championships and H-Farm Business School.

The team currently consists of 9 people, including the 3 founders, and will continue to expand in the coming months with the addition of new specialised profiles, starting with accounting and finance.

“Vivilo is also looking at international expansion: the goal is to strengthen its position as the leading provider of personalised video content for large-scale events in Europe, potentially by the end of 2027, in order to support entry into the US market,” the founders conclude.
