Unravel Health Raises €2.96 Mn to Develop At-Home Hormone Testing Device

London-based startup Unravel Health has raised €2.96 million (£2.5 million) to develop technology that allows people to check their hormone levels at home every day.

SUMMARY

  • Unravel Health raised €2.96 million (£2.5 million).
  • Developing the Micro Lab, a palm-sized device that measures multiple hormones from saliva in minutes.
  • Built on ten years of research at the University of Glasgow and protected by three granted patents.

The company is developing the Micro Lab, a small device that fits in the palm of your hand. It can measure several hormones using a saliva sample and deliver results within minutes.

The funding round was led by Conduit EIS Impact Fund and Wrightwood. Other investors included Leo Capital, Embryo Ventures, Hermesa and existing investor Zinc VC.

“People said nobody could climb Everest without oxygen, until someone did. Reading hormones in saliva outside a lab has been our Everest. Fifteen years ago I built my own hormone tracker to manage PCOS (now PMOS), because a blood test told me almost nothing about what my body was doing. Soon anyone will be able to bring the lab home to understand their symptoms,” said Veronika Bridgman, co-founder and CEO of Unravel Health.

Eva-Maria Dimitriadis, Managing Partner at Conduit EIS Impact Fund, said, “Women’s hormonal health is one of the largest under-served markets in healthcare, and the bottleneck has always been data. Unravel is solving a hard technical problem that many are trying to address: measuring multiple hormones accurately, longitudinally, and affordably. And they are doing it via saliva, at home, aiming for lab-grade sensitivity. The team pairs deep science with a clear view of what women and clinicians actually need. We’re proud to lead this round and back them from a very early stage.”

Founded in 2024, Unravel Health was started by Bridgman, Liza Levy, who serves as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), and Dr. Alexandra Oti, who is the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). The women’s health startup aims to build a data platform that helps people better understand how hormones affect their health.

Saliva contains hormones that play an important role in the body. However, these hormones are often present in very small amounts, making them difficult to measure without specialised laboratory equipment. Unravel Health aims to make this testing possible at home.

The company says its technology is based on ten years of research at the University of Glasgow. It is also protected by three granted patents. Unravel Health aims to bring lab-quality hormone testing into people’s homes through its compact device.
