"Today, insurance pays out and then the family is on their own for the next six months," says Valtteri Korkiakoski, CEO and co-founder of Solace Care. "We are redefining personal insurance, so the support is not only a payment. It should help the family keep going."
"A year ago we had zero covered lives," says Korkiakoski. "The growth has not come from marketing. It has come from partners who put it in front of their customers and saw the positive response to the product."

"A product that does nothing for you until you die is a tough sell to a healthy 35-year-old," says Josef Karakoca, CTO and co-founder of Solace Care. "Put planning and support around it and the same policy suddenly does something for the family right now, not just after loss. That’s the value we’re building"
"Life insurance has been sold on the same promise for decades," says Erik Wenngren, Partner at Spintop Ventures. "Solace Care changes what the product actually delivers to a family, both before and after a loss. That is rare in this industry, and the team has the operating history to execute it."
Solace Care was founded in 2025 by Valtteri Korkiakoski and Josef Karakoca. Before starting the company, they helped build and grow Mindler, a digital healthcare company.
Solace Care offers a digital platform for end-of-life planning and support. Its services are provided through life insurance companies and insurance brokers.
The platform helps people organize important matters before they die and supports their families with the practical and emotional challenges that come after a death.
