Metris Energy Secures $5 Mn Seed Funding to Transform Energy Asset Management

Metris Energy, an AI-powered platform that helps manage energy assets, has raised $5 million in a seed funding round. The round was led by PT1 Ventures, Octopus Ventures, AENU and Blackfinch Ventures.

SUMMARY

  • Metris Energy raised $5 million in a seed funding round.
  • The round was led by PT1 Ventures, Octopus Ventures, AENU, and Blackfinch Ventures.
  • Founded in 2025, Metris uses AI to help energy companies manage their assets and data.

The round also received investment from Plug and Play and Love Ventures. With this new funding, Metris Energy has now raised a total of $7.5 million. The company plans to use the funding to further develop its AI-based energy management platform.

Natasha Jones, founder and CEO of Metris, said, "The company is addressing the lack of a unified system that allows asset owners and AI agents to view and act on energy portfolios. Metris was founded on the core belief that the winners of the energy transition won’t be the owners of the most kW of capacity, but those who can view, control and monetise them best. There’s no unified layer that lets asset owners, or the AI agents now entering this space, actually see and act on their portfolio. That's the gap we're closing with Metris."

Metris Energy was founded in 2025. At first, the company helped solar portfolio operators bring together data from different systems, including inverters, meters, SCADA systems, CRMs, spreadsheets, and financial tools.

Metris has since expanded its focus. It now aims to create a single data platform for the wider energy industry, making it easier for energy companies to manage and use their information.

The company is focused on solving the problem of fragmented energy systems. As power grids become more decentralised, new opportunities such as flexibility services, curtailment management, community energy, and corporate PPAs are growing. However, the data needed to manage these opportunities is often spread across many different systems.
