Metal Morph Raises £700K Pre-Seed to Advance Water Resource Recovery Technology

The funding round was co-led by Sustainable Ventures and Green Angel Ventures. Aqcelerator and Found Capital also participated in the round.

With Metal Morph, I want to help change that reality. Water infrastructure is one of the most overlooked industrial supply chains in the world. By harnessing them correctly, we are fundamentally reshaping the supply of essential chemicals to reduce the cost of water production," said Moletsane Mophethe, founder and CEO of Metal Morph.

Founded in 2025, Metal Morph is developing a technology that helps recover useful industrial materials from municipal and industrial wastewater. The company offers this as an infrastructure service for businesses and water treatment facilities.

Its first technology focuses on recovering aluminium and iron-based treatment chemicals. These materials are often sent to sewers, landfills, or spread on land after use, but Metal Morph aims to recover and reuse them instead.

The new funding will help Metal Morph further develop its resource recovery technology, launch pilot projects, and test the technology with water companies and industrial partners.

The company is also looking to expand into European markets, including possible pilot projects in Estonia. Metal Morph is also in talks with Aquafin, a Belgian water utility, about potential collaboration.
