Lapso Studios, a sportstech startup based in Barcelona, secures €1.5 million. Another minority investor has joined the venture, which is headed by Thomas Meyer, the creator of Desigual, through his family business “La Vida es Chula.”
The funds from the transaction will be utilised by Lapso Studios to speed up its expansion. Regarding this, the company plans to build new studios in Barcelona and other Spanish towns as part of an ambitious expansion plan.
Eugenia Llopart, co-founder and CEO of Lapso Studios, said: “We are enormously grateful to Thomas and the other investors for having placed their trust in our project. For us, the fact that an entrepreneur of Thomas’ stature and trajectory has placed his trust in Lapso is not only a validation of our business model, but also of our management. This operation marks the start of a new phase for the company in which we will continue to grow and evolve”.
Lapso Studios’ innovative concept has enabled them to stand out and draw interest from the fitness community. In a business-to-consumer (B2C) pay-per-use model, the consumer pays for the usage of a good or service instead of purchasing it.
The brand has built a relationship with a demanding and cosmopolitan customer base that prioritises overall well-being without compromising enjoyment of life.
The boutique studio specialised in a type of fitness wherein coaching, strength, resistance, upper body exercises using dumbbells, and dancing are paired with intense cycling exercise. The penultimate song sets the tone for the 45-minute workout, which includes twelve tracks.
