GreenLight Biosciences funding news – Biotech Company GreenLight Biosciences Receive €35M Loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB)

The loan is backed by InvestEU, a European program aimed at unlocking over €372B in investments by 2027. The EIB, owned by EU Member States, supports investments that align with EU goals.

EIB Vice-President Gelsomina Vigliotti said, “The agreement is a clear example of how the EIB is stepping up its support for bioeconomy and agriculture, fostering sustainable farming practices and driving innovation across the entire agriculture value chain,".

The European Investment Bank (EIB) loan will help GreenLight Bio research, register, and produce ten products for plant and bee health.

These products will tackle issues like potato pests, fungi affecting grapes and other crops, and protect honeybees. The loan will also help build it’ research center in Seville, Spain.
