SUMMARY

  • Europe’s expanding defense modernization efforts delivered another major win for Elbit Systems, as the Israeli defense company announced a $1.4 billion contract to support large-scale military upgrades for an undisclosed European customer.

The agreement comes alongside strong quarterly results, including record order backlog levels and improved profitability.

The five-year deal reflects growing European demand for integrated battlefield technologies that combine autonomous systems, electronic warfare, precision-guided weapons, and advanced communications capabilities.

Under the agreement, Elbit will provide a broad portfolio of military technologies, including autonomous unmanned platforms, land-based electronic warfare systems, software-defined radios (SDR), electro-optical targeting and reconnaissance solutions, and precision-guided artillery and air-to-ground munitions.

The systems are designed to strengthen battlefield maneuverability, operational effectiveness and force survivability.

The announcement coincided with Elbit’s first-quarter financial results, which highlighted continued momentum across the global defense sector.

Revenue reached $2.19 billion for the quarter ended March 31, while the company’s order backlog surpassed $30 billion for the first time in its history.

Elbit also reported GAAP net income of $160.8 million and non-GAAP net income of $186.4 million, supported by operating margins above 10% and strong free cash flow.

The results underscore increasing global defense investment particularly across Europe as governments accelerate procurement and modernization programs in response to evolving security priorities and geopolitical uncertainty.

“Our strategic positioning reflects our evolution into a fully integrated end-to-end defense provider across land, sea and air,” Elbit CEO Bezhalel “Butzi” Machlis said in the company’s earnings statement.
