Daniel Ek Co-Founded Neko Health Raises $700 Million in Major Funding Round

Neko Health, a health technology company based in Stockholm, has raised €612.7 million ($700 million) in a Series C funding round.

SUMMARY

  • Neko Health raised €612.7 million ($700 million) in a Series C funding round.
  • The funding will support the launch of its first U.S. clinics, starting in New York.
  • The investment will accelerate global expansion and improve early disease detection.

The company plans to use the funding to open its first clinics in the United States, starting with New York and other cities later this year.

The funding round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and co-led by O.G. Venture Partners, with support from existing and new investors. Following the investment, David Ofer from O.G. Venture Partners will join Neko Health's Board of Directors. The new funding comes after the company raised €250 million in its Series B round in January 2025.

Hjalmar Nilsonne, Neko Health co-founder and CEO, said, “This funding is a strong vote of confidence in what we set out to do when we opened our first clinic three years ago: a completely new healthcare experience designed to keep people healthy, catch problems early and help prevent disease before it even starts.

“With this round, we’re taking that mission to the US for the first time, while continuing to invest in the research and technology that make prevention possible at scale. The clearest proof is in our members: the vast majority of our members return after their first scan, and when they do, their health markers move in the right direction.”

Bejul Somaia, Global Partner, Lightspeed Venture Partners, said, “Over the past eighteen months, Neko Health has demonstrated remarkable innovation and growth, attacking one of the largest markets in the world with breakthrough technology, proven consumer demand, and a clear path to global scale. We believe this is one of the most important healthcare companies of our generation, and we’re proud to deepen our partnership as they continue to reimagine prevention.”

Founded in 2023 by Nilsonne and Daniel Ek, Neko Health aims to make healthcare proactive, helping people detect health problems early instead of treating them only after they become serious.
