Cortea Raises €12 Mn in Seed Round led by Dawn Capital

The investment was led by Dawn Capital, with participation from Cherry Ventures, Mosaic Ventures, and several angel investors, including Larry Bradley, the former Global Head of Audit at KPMG.

Alongside the funding announcement, Cortea launched its first Audit Quality Agents—AI-powered tools designed to help audit firms improve the quality of their audits while enabling teams to handle more work efficiently.

Founded in 2024 by Neumann and Philipp Hövelmann, Cortea develops AI tools that help audit firms use artificial intelligence in a safer, more accurate, and more consistent way.

Its platform is designed to make sure AI-generated audit work follows professional standards and can be easily reviewed and verified by auditors.

The company's Audit Quality Agents are built around auditing rules and review processes, helping firms produce higher-quality audit work while allowing teams to handle more audits efficiently. Cortea currently works with audit firms across Europe, the UK, and the United States.
