Coolbrook Appoints Veli-Matti Mattila As Chairman To Support Global Growth

Mattila brings decades of international leadership experience to the role. He served as CEO of Elisa Corporation from 2003 to 2024 and previously held senior leadership positions at Ericsson, including President of Ericsson Finland. He currently chairs Orion Corporation and Enento Group.

The appointment follows a comprehensive search process by Coolbrook’s Board and Nomination Committee as the company prepares for its next phase of commercial growth and international expansion.

Founded to help decarbonise energy-intensive industries, Coolbrook develops breakthrough technologies that replace fossil fuel combustion in industrial processes. Its proprietary RotoDynamic Reactor (RDR) and RotoDynamic Heater (RDH) technologies are designed for sectors such as petrochemicals, chemicals, steel, and cement.

The company’s technology combines space science, turbomachinery and chemical engineering to deliver carbon-free industrial heating and production processes. At scale, Coolbrook estimates its solutions could help reduce up to 2.4 billion tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, equivalent to around 30% of heavy industry emissions worldwide.

With Mattila’s leadership and extensive industrial experience, Coolbrook aims to accelerate commercial deployment and scale its clean industrial technology globally.
