At the same time, threats including shadow fleets, vessels that turn off tracking systems, sanctions evasion, and possible sabotage activities are increasing demand for more advanced maritime monitoring and surveillance solutions.
Ubotica's Live Maritime Intelligence platform helps governments and operators detect potential threats across large ocean areas in real time. The system continuously monitors maritime activity and highlights high-risk areas allowing surveillance teams to focus their resources where they are needed most.
The platform combines AI technology with satellite tasking to quickly direct available satellites toward suspicious or emerging activity.
This helps deliver faster intelligence and earlier warnings than traditional maritime monitoring methods.
Unlike conventional Earth observation systems, which send images to Earth for analysis, Ubotica's technology processes data directly on the satellite using AI.
By analyzing information in orbit, the company can reduce response times and improve the efficiency of satellite operations.
"Fintan Buckley, CEO of Ubotica Technologies, said Live Maritime Intelligence enables the early detection of emerging threats, autonomously tasks the most appropriate satellites and sensors, and delivers actionable intelligence within minutes."
Founded in 2016, Ubotica Technologies is a space AI company that develops technology that makes satellites smarter. Its onboard AI systems allow satellites to analyze data, make decisions, and respond to events automatically without waiting for instructions from Earth.
By processing information directly in space, the company helps deliver real-time insights, reduce delays, and improve the efficiency of satellite operations.
