Danish Startup BeCause secures $1.9 million in seed funding. Ugly Duckling Ventures, Superangel.io, Mercato and Versori founder Sean Brown, circle.com director of business development and partnerships Sean Evans, and private investor Patrick Patrong contributed $1.9 million to BeCause's seed round. The round isn't closed yet, though.
Building on funds given by angel investors earlier in the year, the business plans to employ the newly invested funds to expand operations and satisfy increasing demand from companies like Google, easyJet, Booking.com, Radisson Hotels, and TUI.

BeCause co-founder and CEO Frederik Steensgaard explains: "We have retained the possibility of adding another investor to this round and hope to find a partner that has experience with high-growth startups in the impact space, particularly those with a background in B2B SaaS models, travel and big data API, to help accelerate our mission even further."
Steensgaard said, "This newest round of funding allows us to continue our work with stakeholders in the hospitality industry and gives us the ability to respond to the massive interest in our sustainability data hub from adjacent industries like corporate travel and destinations and meetings,".
Although there are multiple platforms available to assist businesses in monitoring their sustainability statistics, BeCause distinguishes apart from the competition due to its concentration on the travel and tourist sector.
