Paderborn-based DeepTech startup assemblean has raised €1.8 million in a Seed funding round to develop its platform for automating manufacturing and supply chains, targeting the €2.4 trillion contract manufacturing market.

The round was led by b2venture, with support from Archimedes New Ventures and business angels from the Teuto Seed Club.
Co-founder Dr Ing. Xiaojun Yang said, “Our mission is to make production as easy as possible for our customers. We are creating the infrastructure for manufacturing anything at scale, using our digital platform, We are elated to have won b2venture as a new investor who supports our mission, and we’re looking forward to unlocking new possibilities for startups, SMEs and corporates to build products with our infrastructure.”
Assemblean was created as a spin-off from the Heinz Nixdorf Institute and received support from garage33, the startup center at Paderborn University, and the Founders Foundation.

The platform helps with various manufacturing tasks, such as assembly and quality control. Assemblean currently serves over 100 customers from different industries. With the new funding, the company plans to improve its platform by adding more automation, integrating an automatic quality control system, and expanding to handle larger contracts.

Assemblean’s "Production as a Service" model uses automation to make high-quality manufacturing easier and more flexible for startups and small businesses. It helps them overcome challenges in producing innovative products at large scales.
Unlike traditional manufacturers or on-demand platforms, assemblean offers almost every manufacturing process on-demand, including assembly and quality control, through an automated and easy-to-use platform. This approach makes parts up to 1/3 cheaper and faster to produce, with no limits on the types of products it can make.
