Antseed Raises $2.4 Mn to Build an Open Marketplace for AI Inference

Antseed has launched its new platform, an open peer-to-peer marketplace for AI inference. The platform is designed to give users flexible, affordable and unlimited access to AI computing, making it easier to access AI models without relying on traditional providers.

SUMMARY

  • Antseed has launched an open peer-to-peer marketplace for AI inference.
  • The Antseed Foundation raised $2.4 million in a token funding round led by Spark Capital.
  • The company says some AI models can cost up to 97% less than official API prices.

Alongside the launch, the non-profit Antseed Foundation has raised $2.4 million in a token funding round. The round was led by Spark Capital, an early investor in Anthropic, with participation from Collider, DCG, North Island Ventures, Reciprocal Ventures, Relay Capital and Venice.ai.

Antseed’s open marketplace allows users to send AI requests through hundreds of different providers, including both major and independent providers, using a self-hosted local router.

Instead of depending on one central platform to choose providers, manage access and set costs, Antseed gives developers more control over cost, performance and privacy. Providers compete directly and can use their own hardware or existing computing capacity, helping reduce prices. According to the company, some leading AI models are available for up to 97% less than official API prices.

“What BitTorrent did for files, Antseed is doing for AI inference, with no central server, and no company deciding who gets access or what it costs,” said Amos Meiri, co-founder of Antseed. “As agents make more model calls and inference becomes a material operating cost, developers need a simple way to route each request based on price, performance, capability and privacy. Antseed gives them one compatible local endpoint and access to a competitive market of independent providers, without locking their applications into a single centralized gateway.”

“Inference is becoming to AI businesses what fuel is to airlines, a core operating cost that companies need to manage as they scale, and right now a handful of companies control the wells,” said Santo Politi, Co-Founder and General Partner at Spark Capital. “Antseed is the counterweight to that centralized control, serving as a decentralized, open market that gives developers the freedom to choose how they source compute, while creating a direct market for providers to compete.”

Antseed is an open peer-to-peer marketplace for AI computing. Its locally run router allows developers to connect with different independent AI providers through one compatible endpoint.

Developers can choose how their AI requests are handled based on price, performance, reliability and privacy. Antseed aims to make AI computing more open, affordable and accessible for both developers and AI providers.
