SUMMARY

  • Polish shipping tech platform Alsendo has acquired Italian logistics platforms Spedire.com and SpedirePRO for €5.5 million.

This marks Alsendo’s first expansion into Western Europe and a key move in its plan to become a pan-European leader in logistics and e-commerce.

The deal was supported by Abris Capital Partners, Alsendo’s majority shareholder since 2020.

“At Alsendo, our ambition is to become Europe’s leading delivery management and shipping platform. That’s why we are steadily building our position in the logistics technology market.

“With the experience gained in the competitive markets of Central and Eastern Europe, we are ready to scale our model in Western Europe. Entering the Italian market confirms the effectiveness of this strategy, and our partnership with Spedire is just the beginning of our pan-European journey,” says Magdalena Magnuszewska, CEO of Alsendo.

Warsaw-based Alsendo provides end-to-end delivery and post-sales solutions for businesses of all sizes. Its portfolio includes several tech-based shipping platforms like Apaczka, Sendit, Zaslat, Ecolet, Siusk24, and Cargobooking. Through its Innoship platform, it offers Delivery Management System (DMS) tools tailored for large e-commerce players.

Alsendo also supports marketplace logistics, integrates with over 80 e-commerce systems, and provides a single API for multi-courier access. Its international services operate under the Alsendo International brand, while its Alsendo Business Pro SaaS platform helps businesses manage logistics, marketing, and customer service.

The company recently acquired Spedire.com and SpedirePRO, two innovative logistics platforms created by Italy-based Esite. Active for over a decade and managing more than 400,000 shipments annually, the platforms work with top carriers like UPS, FedEx, InPost, and Poste Italiane.

They offer services such as pick-up and delivery point options, cash-on-delivery, and triangulated shipments. Esite, developed with digital services group Triboo S.p.A., adds strong local expertise and a solid tech foundation to Alsendo’s growing European presence.

“The Italian market is still in the early stages of APM development, but its scale and the large number of international e-retailers (e.g. in the fashion and beauty industries) create ideal conditions for the further expansion of our digital solutions, such as Innoship and BusinessPro, along with our cross-border services. Spedire fits perfectly into our development vision,” adds Magnuszewska.

Alsendo’s acquisition is part of its strategy to unify Europe’s fragmented shipping market and grow its cross-border services. The move strengthens Alsendo’s position as a top logistics tech company from Poland.

The Italian parcel market, with around 1.1 billion annual shipments—comparable to Poland—is still fragmented, especially in the shipping platform segment. Local players dominate, and Poste Italiane holds the largest market share. Logistics infrastructure in Italy is evolving, boosted by InPost’s entry in November 2024.

Italy also lags behind Central and Eastern Europe in terms of PUDO points and parcel locker adoption. However, the country has a high share of international shipments (around 13.5%) reflecting strong demand for cross-border services—an area that aligns with Alsendo’s growth strategy.

“Joining Alsendo Group is a natural step in our evolution. In recent years, we’ve focused on technological innovation and broadening our range of services. Now, by becoming part of a larger group with international expertise, we’re in a stronger position to scale our business, strengthen our presence in the Italian market, and offer even greater value to our customers – especially business clients who rely on advanced, reliable shipping solutions,” adds Luca Lorenzini, CEO and founder of Spedire.com e SpedirePRO.
