Velatir Raises €5 Million to Expand Its AI Infrastructure Platform Across Europe

Odense-based AI infrastructure startup Velatir has raised €5 million in new funding. The company plans to use the money to speed up its expansion across Europe and attract top talent.

SUMMARY

  • Velatir has raised €5 million in new funding to accelerate its expansion across Europe.
  • The round was co-led by Spintop Ventures and Ugly Duckling Ventures and was completed in two weeks.
  • Velatir aims to reduce data security and compliance risks as companies increasingly use AI agents.

The funding round was completed in just two weeks. It was co-led by new investor Spintop Ventures and existing investor Ugly Duckling Ventures.

“We’re here to win. Winning means helping European companies stay competitive in the age of AI and protecting Europe’s future competitiveness. Europe has been longing for more European infrastructure champions, and we’re here to answer that calling. Our mission is to enable any company to become AI-native, and with this new round, we’re taking the next step in our journey to become the fastest-growing European AI company,” said Michael Sørensen, CEO and co-founder at Velatir.

“Sovereign cloud” is a common phrase, and it often means American platforms with a European label. We built Velatir on European-owned and hosted infrastructure from the very beginning. It is the harder path, but the only viable one for us. We’re building a category leader, and we don’t take shortcuts,” said Christian Møller, COO and co-founder at Velatir.

Velatir was founded in 2025 by Elias Sørensen (CTO), Christian Møller (COO), Andreas Paulli (CPO), and Sørensen. The company is building an integration platform designed to help European businesses adopt AI safely and follow regulations.

Velatir helps companies automate workflows using AI while keeping control over their data and systems. Its platform also provides tracking and transparency to help businesses meet regulations, including the EU AI Act.

As AI becomes more powerful, it is also becoming harder for businesses to control. The risk of sensitive data being exposed is increasing, especially with the growth of AI agents that can perform tasks on their own.

Velatir aims to give companies the controls they need to benefit from AI without creating additional security or compliance risks.

Velatir describes its platform as a future operating system for AI. It works across different areas that AI interacts with, including devices, software vendors, AI agents, employees, and the underlying infrastructure.

Instead of being another separate AI tool, Velatir aims to become an infrastructure layer through which AI-related activity can securely flow.
