Cloudgeni an Oslo-based startup developing AI agents for cloud infrastructure management, has raised €858,000 ($1 million) in funding to support its expansion across the Nordics and the United States.

The round was backed by Nordic investors, including the byFounders Angel Collective, Startuplab, Antler, Remarkable CEO Vegard Gullaksen Veiteberg, and Danish entrepreneur Nicolaj Højer Nielsen.

Founded in 2024 by Thuen and Davlet Dzhakishev, Cloudgeni is building an AI-powered platform that helps organizations automatically secure, monitor, and manage cloud infrastructure. Its technology detects and fixes security, compliance, and configuration issues through automated workflows while providing continuous verification and auditability.

The company says cloud misconfigurations are responsible for the vast majority of cloud security failures and aims to reduce operational complexity by automating tasks traditionally handled by DevOps and security teams.

Cloudgeni has already secured customers including Norwegian industrial giant Hydro and shipping company Havila, and has formed a partnership with IBM. The startup plans to grow its team as it scales internationally.

“We are pleased to have experienced and knowledgeable investors backing our next phase of growth. With the product now validated in our home market, we are focusing on expansion across the Nordics and the US, where we recently secured our first paying customer,” said Iuliia Petryshyn Thuen, co-founder and COO of Cloudgeni.
