Founded by Olaf van der Veen, Richard Beks, and Bart van Arnhem, Orbisk is on a mission to build a more sustainable global food system.

At the heart of their innovation is ‘the Orbi’—an AI-powered food waste monitor designed for food-service operators including hotels, restaurants, catering companies, and cruise lines. The Orbi tracks food waste, identifies its causes, and presents the data through an easy-to-use dashboard with actionable insights to help kitchens improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Orbisk has strengthened its presence in the U.S. through a partnership with Carnival Cruise Line, where the Orbi system will be rolled out on select ships in 2025 following a successful pilot. The company has also teamed up with Accor to help reduce food waste by 60% by 2030—exceeding the UN’s targets.

Today, Orbisk operates in more than 40 countries, supporting chefs across five continents in creating more efficient and sustainable kitchens.
