Stockholm-based STILFOLD launches MetaFold Academy with €5 million in funding, with the goal of advancing green manufacturing techniques in the automobile industry.
With support from the Manufacturing branch of the European Institute of Technology (EIT), MetaFold Academy is poised to revolutionise industrial education in Sweden, Greece, Italy, and Hungary.
It is intended to meet the pressing need for a shift in industry-wide practices towards more environmentally friendly ones. Through the use of an innovative modular training programme, the project will concentrate on teaching eco-innovation, energy efficiency, and resource management skills.

With the help of this programme, 250 engineers and designers from the automotive, aerospace, and energy sectors will get the skills necessary to integrate cutting-edge green technology into their daily work.
Jonas Nyvang, Co-founder of Stilfold, the technology provider for the training program said, “The launch of MetaFold Academy marks a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering sustainable industrial practices, Through this initiative, we aim to empower professionals with the tools and knowledge necessary to drive the Green Industrial Transformation.”
Each of the four training facilities that make up the MetaFold Academy network is situated in a participant nation. These centres will provide courses that blend online and hands-on modules, acting as hubs for innovation and practical training. Advanced teaching techniques including challenge-based learning, extended reality, and microlearning will be used with the participants.

A group of eminent academic and research institutions, including TF CC in Greece, MADE Competence Centre I4.0 in Italy, and PBN in Hungary, are also supporting the effort. Each of these institutions contributes special knowledge and resources to the endeavour.
