SHIFT Invest Secures €92M First Close For Fund

The fund will support early-stage startups—from concept to seed and Series A stages—that are working on climate change, resource conservation, and biodiversity protection.

SHIFT focuses on companies using technology-driven solutions—whether software, hardware, or a mix of both—to solve major environmental problems.

SHIFT Invest IV will back startups in energy, industry, mobility, food, and agriculture, focusing on companies based in the Netherlands and Northwestern Europe. The fund will invest between €250,000 and €4 million in each startup.

The fund follows strict sustainability rules under SFDR Article 9, showing a strong focus on real environmental impact. SHIFT not only invests money but also offers expert advice and connections, supporting companies from launch to exit.

Early backers of the fund include Rabo Investments, Invest-NL, Royal Schiphol Group, regional development funds, Wageningen University & Research, and others like family offices and individual investors across Europe.

Fay Kitzen, investment analyst at Invest-NL, says, “We’re enthusiastic about SHIFT Invest because they’re true pioneers in impact investing.
