[Funding alert] Copenhagen-based Seasony Secures €1.5 Million in Funding

Seasony, a Copenhagen-based company, has raised €1.5 million. North Ventures and EFIO (the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark) spearheaded the financing.

In addition to them, a number of well-known and seasoned business angels made investments, including Nicolaj Reffstrup (Look Up Ventures), Torben Wind, Barbara Taudorf Andersen, Klaus Holse, and Vagn Ove Soerensen.

With this financial milestone, Seasony will further advance its objective of using cutting-edge mobile robots technology to increase indoor farming's scalability, profitability, and sustainability.

Seasony's co-founder and CEO, Christopher Weis Thomasen, stated, "We want Watney to be the John Deere of indoor farming." With a memory that allows vertical farms to greatly optimise operations and maximise output per square metre, Watney manages both hazardous and heavy lifting while closely examining every plant.

From the time the seeds are sown until the plants are harvested, Watney is able to labour nonstop. Watney moves around in a vertical farm, doing things like lifting and lowering plant trays from shelves that are ten metres high and delivering them to different locations.
