SUMMARY

  • Breathwork platform Regulate has raised €1.4M in a Seed round led by impact investor 4impact.vc, with participation from an angel syndicate including Hanno Renner (Personio), Mike Wax (Forto), Marlena Hien (Bears with Benefits), and Felix Haas (10x Group).

Founded in 2024 by CEO Peter van Woerkum and Paul Laechelin, Regulate aims to improve focus, stress, and resilience through science-backed breathwork.

Regulate has developed a science-backed breathwork and performance platform designed for modern workplaces, offering a library of over 60 guided sessions ranging from 90 seconds to 60 minutes.

The content is created in partnership with scientific advisor Prof. Dr. Hottenrott, a leading European authority on Heart Rate Variability (HRV) research at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg.

Unlike generic mindfulness tools often left unused in corporate wellness portals, Regulate delivers contextual, real-time interventions tailored to the user’s needs throughout the workday. Examples include short focus protocols before high-stakes meetings, breathing exercises for recovery after intense discussions, and group sessions designed for team alignment before workshops.

The platform’s intelligence layer integrates wearable data and workday systems to detect physiological state and situational context.

This enables Regulate to recommend personalised sessions aligned with both the user’s stress or recovery state and their immediate professional demands, positioning it as an on demand performance and recovery tool rather than a passive wellness library.

For organisations Regulate provides aggregated analytics dashboards that track adoption patterns and engagement trends across teams while preserving individual privacy. This allows HR and leadership teams to understand usage impact at a systemic level without exposing personal data.

In under a year, the platform has delivered more than 50,000 completed sessions across enterprise clients. Its commercial pipeline represents over €9 million in ARR potential. Current users include teams at Raiffeisen Bank International, Vattenfall, Personio as well as global enterprises and management consultancies.

The company plans to use its latest funding to accelerate growth, enhance product capabilities, expand its live-session formats, and scale its team.

According to van Woerkum, breathwork is a proven way to shift from stress to clarity in real time. “It’s accessible and it builds resilience that compounds over time. As pressures mount and AI raises the bar for what organisations can produce, expectations on professionals have never been higher.

We’re building Regulate to help people meet these demands sustainably by embedding it into the way teams already work, not adding another source of stress.”
