OpenText, a global leader in data management for enterprise AI headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, has announced a €105 million investment in Ireland. The investment will support the creation of 400 new jobs across the company’s Irish operations over the next three years.

This €105 million investment, supported by the Irish government through IDA Ireland, is the largest investment in Ireland by a Canadian-headquartered technology company. The funding will support operations and research and development in key areas such as agentic AI, sovereign cloud, and cybersecurity.

The investment will create high-skilled jobs at OpenText’s locations in Cork and Galway. Teams based in Ireland will help develop, secure, deploy, and manage AI and cloud technologies for customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

The investment doubles OpenText’s commitment to Ireland and will help expand the company’s capabilities in agentic AI, cybersecurity, sovereign cloud services, and digital operations. It is aimed at supporting businesses, governments, and public sector organizations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

OpenText announced the investment in Dublin alongside Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, and IDA Ireland CEO Michael Lohan. The announcement marks a major step forward in technology and economic cooperation between Canada, and Ireland.

OpenText’s expanded operations in Europe will help organizations in highly regulated and mission critical industries gain greater control over data management, cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure.

The investment supports OpenText’s cloud-of-choice strategy, giving customers the flexibility to use hybrid, public, private, or sovereign cloud environments based on their business, regulatory, and security needs.

For more than 35 years, OpenText has helped organizations manage, protect, and make better use of their most important data. The expansion in Ireland is an important part of the companys global strategy to support enterprise AI through secure data management, cybersecurity, sovereign cloud services and operational resilience.

As part of its long-term growth plans, OpenText also intends to explore partnerships with Irish universities, and research institutions. These collaborations could focus on areas such as AI cybersecurity and secure digital operations while helping develop future talent and innovation.
