SUMMARY
- Stockholm-based defence tech startup Nordic Air Defence has raised $3 million (approx. €2.5M), expanding its pre-seed round to $4.4 million (approx. €3.7M).
The round was led by venture capital firm Inflection and includes changes to the company’s board as it enters a key growth phase. This now stands as one of the largest pre-seed rounds in the defence sector.
Nordic Air Defence CEO Karl Rosander says, “What were once imagined as future conflicts are happening right now. There can be no complacency: the world is rapidly changing, and Europe must create new industrial might and deliver defensive hardware at scale. Inflection recognises the urgency of the mission at hand and has invested in Nordic Air Defence; their investment brings us closer to bringing the Kreuger 100, our first product, to market and ultimately to the field. The race is on to deploy and have Nordic Air Defence providing protective cover. We must move fast in order to have an impact and save lives.”
About eight months after raising €1.2M from Norway’s SNÖ Ventures, Nordic Air Defence has announced a series of senior hires and board changes to support its next phase of growth. The company is strengthening its team with top talent in drone systems, autonomous navigation, and advanced sensing.

The board has also been reshaped to support this chapter. It now includes co-founders Karl Rosander and Gustav Wiberg, Dr Jonas Dromberg (Revalence Ventures), and Hampus Särnbratt (EQT Ventures). Departing members include Johan Ahlberg, Jan Gurander, Jörgen Bladh, and Erik Fredlund.
Rosander adds: “I would like to thank Johan, Jan, Jörgen, and Erik for their invaluable counsel and support in the earliest days of Nordic Air Defence. Their collective advice and experience enabled us to set a clear strategy as well as develop the business around our technology.
Founded by tech industry veteran Karl Rosander, Nordic Air Defence builds advanced defensive technologies for both civilian and military use. The company came out of stealth in September 2024 with its first product, the Kreuger 100 — a lightweight, battery-powered drone interceptor.
Unlike traditional systems that rely on expensive, bulky hardware, the Kreuger 100 uses software to reduce production costs by up to 90%.
Nordic Air Defence now plans to expand its technology to land, sea, and underwater systems, while also growing its global presence.
