Motion Raises €1.7 Mn to Expand Humanoid Robot Services Across Europe

Motion, a Brussels-based startup, has raised €1.7 million (US$2 million) in pre-Seed funding. The company describes itself as Europe’s first Humanoids-as-a-Service (HaaS) platform.

SUMMARY

  • Motion raised €1.7 million (US$2 million) in pre-Seed funding.
  • The round was led by Extantia Capital, with participation from Norrsken Evolve.
  • The funding will help Motion expand its team and grow its robot fleet.

The funding round was led by Extantia Capital, with participation from Norrsken Evolve. The investment will help Motion move its current pilot projects into full production.

Motion currently has five live pilot projects with industrial, warehouse and logistics companies in Belgium. The company plans to expand its team and increase its robot fleet, starting in the Benelux region.

Motion aims to deploy hundreds of humanoid robots across Europe within the next 12 months. The company believes its robot-as-a-service model can help businesses use humanoid robots without having to manage the technology themselves.

Yair Reem, Partner at Extantia Capital, “The climate transition is ultimately a physical transformation: factories must produce and deploy vastly more batteries, heat pumps, grid equipment and other clean technologies.

“Yet industrial growth is increasingly constrained by labour shortages, lost expertise and inefficient production. By backing Motion, Extantia is investing in the infrastructure needed to scale climate technologies faster, while making European manufacturing more efficient, resilient and globally competitive.”

“Europe has a robot adoption problem. Adoption fails on financing, risk and compliance long before it fails on technology. So we take everything that stands between a factory and its first humanoid and turn it into one predictable monthly fee. Hiring a robot should be as easy as hiring a person,” said Alexander Stevens, founder and CEO of Motion.

Founded in 2026, Motion is a Humanoids-as-a-Service (HaaS) company. It provides an AI-powered platform that allows manufacturers to use and manage humanoid robots without needing their own robotics team.

Motion’s humanoid robots are designed to work alongside human employees. They can perform tasks such as loading goods into crates, packing containers into boxes and placing components on conveyor belts.

Businesses pay a single monthly fee instead of making a large upfront investment. This makes it easier for companies to start using humanoid robots.

The monthly service covers everything needed to use the robots, including data collection, robot selection, task training, IT integration, fleet management, financing, insurance, compliance and maintenance.
