SUMMARY
- Metly, an AI-powered platform for pharmaceutical business development, has raised an oversubscribed €520,000 pre-seed round to transform how pharma companies find and manage licensing and manufacturing partnerships.
The round was led by Encomenda, with backing from Ona Capital, Dozen Investments, and angels like Roberto Urbez, former VP of Bristol Myers Squibb Spain and Portugal.
Metly streamlines what is currently a manual process—often done through contacts, events, and spreadsheets—by helping teams discover opportunities, assess strategic fit, and connect with partners faster, all in one platform. This leads to quicker product launches and better efficiency.

Lydia Taranilla, Metly’s co-founder shared: Business development teams sit at the heart of pharma strategy. They shape portfolios, drive partnerships, and enable long-term growth, but they’ve been underserved by technology for years. Metly is changing that. We’re giving BD teams the speed, visibility and intelligence they need to act faster and smarter in an increasingly complex market.
Metly’s AI continuously scans public and private data to find the best licensing and manufacturing opportunities tailored to each company. Teams can then reach out to the most relevant partners directly through Metly’s built-in tools—offering a faster, smarter alternative to conferences, cold emails, and personal networks.
The platform already features over 35,000 licensed products from 550 global licensors and is expanding into the US and China.
The new funding will help scale its AI, grow the team, and speed up global expansion.
