Berlin-based SaaS startup Menlo79 has raised €2.1 million to expand its cloud-based workforce management platform, WILSON, for rail and logistics. Investors include Scalehouse Capital, D2 Fund, Ventis Capital, and Frankenbergs Ventures.

Fabian Stöffler, Co-founder and CEO of Menlo79 GmbH said, “We are excited to have found partners who also believe in the need for digital workforce management to help counter the global shortage of skilled workers, Now we want to continue our growth together and make workforce management in rail and logistics more efficient and easier for our customers.”
It says its software solves a major problem in rail transport: poor workforce planning. The software automates the process, reducing admin work by up to 60%.

The company aims to create an intelligent platform that improves efficiency and employee satisfaction in rail and logistics, especially for companies that struggle with basic shift planning tools or Excel. So far, Menlo79 has grown its business without external funding.

Since launching in early 2022, WILSON software is used by over 65 customers and 2,300 daily users. Customers include transport companies like Flixtrain, Havelländische Eisenbahn, Bentheimer Eisenbahn, and ČD Cargo, as well as service providers like Trainbutlers and LokLöwen, and rail construction firms like Furrer+Frey.
The new funds will mainly be used to improve the software and boost marketing and sales to help the startup grow.
In addition to the €2.1 million funding, it has also secured €1.8 million in grants until 2026. This will help expand their staffing and qualification management features, which they will test with pilot customers.
