SUMMARY
- Manifold, an AI Detection and Response platform protecting autonomous AI on endpoints, has closed an $8 million seed funding round.
The round was led by Costanoa Ventures, with participation from Cherry Ventures, Rain Capital, Modern Technical Fund, and notable angel investors including former Uber CSO Joe Sullivan and former Google DeepMind CISO Vijay Bolina.
The funding will support the development of Manifold’s agentic AI Detection and Response (AIDR) platform, which safeguards enterprises from the risks of growing autonomous AI adoption, enabling employees to securely leverage agentic AI at scale.
The financing comes amid a surge in AI adoption. Today, 85% of developers rely on coding agents like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor, and this trend is expanding to all knowledge workers with tools such as Claude Cowork and OpenClaw.

Engineers already represent a high-risk blind spot: their daily activities reading codebases, executing shell commands and making API calls often appear suspicious to EDR tools, which is why exceptions are common. Now, coding agents perform those same tasks autonomously, with wide access to production systems, source code and CI/CD pipelines, yet with little visibility or control.
As agent adoption spreads across roles, the organizational attack surface grows, creating an urgent need for transparency into which AI agents are deployed and exactly what they are doing.
“Every developer today has coding agents on their laptop with access to source code, production systems, and CI/CD pipelines connected to an expanding ecosystem of MCP servers, skills, and third-party tools that no one is inspecting," said Neal Swaelens, CEO and Co-Founder, Manifold.
"With the rise of Claude Cowork, OpenClaw, and others, that same pattern is about to hit every knowledge worker. These agents don't just talk they execute. First-generation AI security tooling was not designed to solve for this. That's the problem Manifold was built to solve.”
Manifold is an agentless AI security platform founded in 2025 that deploys in minutes to give full visibility into agent activity. Monitoring every endpoint and first-party application, it protects enterprises by revealing and securing what AI agents actually do, helping organizations safely adopt autonomous AI at scale.
