With users in 185 countries, Kodree helps individuals looking to switch careers by building in-demand skills, while also supporting professionals who want to upskill and advance in their current roles.
The company is led by CEO Oleksandr Bartosiuk, previously Head of Product at Mate academy. Kodree operates as an independent company with its own profit and loss (P&L) structure.
Kodree’s parent company, Mate academy is a well-established player in the Ukrainian tech ecosystem. The company is known for its AI-powered learning platform that helps users develop skills for both technical and non-technical roles supporting career development in IT and other industries. Mate academy operates across multiple international markets and is supported by a strong product and engineering team.
According to Mate academy co-founder Max Lysak, the launch of Rist Labs is a natural extension of the team’s internal product experiments and innovation initiatives.
Kodree plans to use the credit facility to scale its marketing efforts and accelerate global user acquisition.
PvX Partners, which provided the financing, specializes in cohort financing and market intelligence for consumer applications. Backed by General Catalyst, PvX offers businesses non-dilutive, scalable capital to support growth.
“About 80 per cent of the learning process in Kodree is hands-on practice. The AI assistant helps users move faster by suggesting solutions, checking answers, and providing feedback along the way. We don’t believe in passive learning through watching YouTube videos it creates an illusion of knowledge but doesn’t build real skills,” Bartosiuk said.
“At Mate academy, we’ve constantly experimented with new product ideas. Over time, this evolved into a dedicated R&D direction. Rist Labs gives us a way to systematically build new global products,” Lysak said.
