KineDB Raises €850K Pre-Seed to Simplify Database Management for AI-Powered Apps
Oct 29, 2026 | By Oliver Bennett

KineDB has raised €850,000 in a pre-seed funding round. The company is developing database technology designed for cloud infrastructure and devices that need to work offline.
Superhero Capital led the funding round, with participation from NGL Ventures and several angel investors. These include Jussi Pyörre, CTO of Cactos, and Kristoffer Abell and Jakob Lilholm, co-CEOs of Danish compliance company Formalize.
Axel Löwenhoff, co-founder of KineDB, explained how the growing use of AI in software development is changing the requirements for database infrastructure: "The way AI has opened the gates for developers of all levels to experiment and launch new software is a wonderful thing. A consequence, however, is a lot of software where creators haven’t necessarily considered the underlying databases essential to functionality. With KineDB, we want to remove that as a layer of complication for engineers, by providing a database that works within this new environment."

KineDB was founded by Axel Löwenhoff and Allan Zimmermann. The company is developing database technology that works across different environments, including cloud systems and local devices that do not have an internet connection.

KineDB aims to make database management easier for developers. Its technology allows them to use one system for both online and offline applications instead of managing separate databases for different environments.
AI-powered tools are making it easier and faster for people to build software applications. As more applications are developed, the need for reliable and efficient database technology is also increasing.
Managing databases can be difficult, especially for developers with limited experience in infrastructure. KineDB aims to reduce this complexity by offering a single system that supports applications across different environments.
