SUMMARY
- Czech healthtech startup Kardi AI has raised €1.1 million to grow internationally and continue testing its AI-powered chest strap for heart health.
The device helps detect heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias) using a wearable strap and smart AI analysis. It’s more effective than traditional heart monitors, which can miss issues because they only track the heart for a short time.
Kardi AI’s latest funding round included support from existing investors like BrightCap Ventures, DEPO Ventures, and Garage Angels, along with new backers Lumus Investment Collective and a Czech angel investor.

With this new funding, Kardi AI plans to expand first into nearby countries like Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Romania, then move into markets like the UAE and India, where affordable heart health tools are in high demand.
The company has already helped find over 250 serious heart conditions, aiming to make heart monitoring more accurate, affordable, and widely available.
“Traditional single 24-hour period monitoring often isn’t enough. Arrhythmias appear randomly and if you don’t catch them at the right time, it’s like they never existed. With Kardi Ai, users can measure every day, dramatically increasing the chances of early detection,” explains Prof. Tomáš Skála, co-founder and Chief Science Officer of Kardi Ai.
“Kardi Ai has an exceptional, proven product that’s already helping save lives. Now it’s time to take this technology beyond the Czech Republic. We want to become the European leader in continuous heart monitoring. We believe this unique combination of data, clinical validity, and simplicity can change the way we prevent cardiovascular disease,” says Hrabal.
“This expansion comes at a key moment. The markets we’re targeting face similar challenges to the Czech Republic – high rates of cardiovascular disease, overloaded healthcare systems, and growing interest in digital health. We believe Kardi Ai can make the biggest difference right there,” adds Hrabal.
Heart disease is still the number one cause of death worldwide, and many heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias) aren’t found until it’s too late. According to the World Health Organization, over 17 million people die each year from heart-related issues. As healthcare systems face more pressure and people live longer, there’s a growing need for easy-to-use, continuous heart monitoring tools.
Kardi AI is getting ready for a clinical trial with university hospitals in Olomouc and Ostrava. This builds on their work with over 20 hospitals and around 130 heart specialists so far.
